                                      FAQs:

What are dental implants?

A dental implant is an artificial root made from titanium. Once placed and secure, a new tooth (crown) can be made to fit on top of it.

How long does the dental implant process take?

Once the failing tooth is removed, the implant is often placed immediately afterwards. Healing typically takes around 3 months, after which the final tooth can be attached. In some cases, an implant may fail and need to be removed, which can extend the process to 6 months or more.

 Am I too young/old?

We prefer patients who have completed their growth, usually around 21 years of age. There is no upper age limit, as long as you are in good health.

The oldest patient so far to have received implants was 94 year old. He is now 101 and has been able to enjoy his food without having to wear a denture, which he hated.

 Is it painful?

We use a painless approach to ensure you feel nothing more than some pressure during the implant placement. While not everyone needs painkillers afterward, on average, our patients take them for about two days.

Do I have to go away with missing front teeth?

No, we always ensure that you have teeth to smile and chew with, even if temporary, during the treatment process.

 Are dental implants safe?

Yes, thousands of implants are placed daily all over the world. Please make sure you choose a dentist who has the required training and experience to place the implants safely. Dental implants are considered a very safe and effective treatment option for replacing missing teeth. The technology and techniques have advanced significantly over the years, reducing risks and improving outcomes. When performed by qualified professionals, the success rate of dental implants is impressively high. Regular follow-ups and proper oral hygiene further ensure the longevity and health of your implants.

What are the benefits of dental implants?

Dental implants offer numerous benefits, including enhanced chewing function, improved appearance, increased comfort, durability, prevention of bone loss, and the ability to stabilize loose dentures. These advantages make dental implants a preferred choice for many individuals seeking to restore their smile and oral health.

How long do dental implants last?

With good care and maintenance, dental implants can last a lifetime. The implant itself is designed to be a permanent solution for missing teeth. However, the crown, bridge, or denture attached to the implant may require some maintenance or replacement over time due to normal wear and tear. Proper oral hygiene, regular dental check-ups, and avoiding harmful habits such as smoking are crucial to ensure the longevity and health of your dental implants.

How do I care for my implants?

Just like taking care of natural teeth, dental implants need to be brushed, flossed, and checked by a hygienist and the dentist to ensure they last as long as possible. Additionally, using an antibacterial mouthwash can help keep the area around the implants clean and free from infection. Regular dental visits are essential, as the dentist can monitor the implants and address any issues early on. Avoiding hard or sticky foods that can damage the crown or bridge attached to the implant is also advisable. By maintaining good oral hygiene and following your dentist's recommendations, you can enjoy the many benefits of your dental implants for years to come.

How much do dental implants cost?

The price for a single implant and crown ranges between £2115 and £3400, depending on which package and guarantee you choose. This investment covers the implant fixture, the abutment, and the crown, along with any necessary consultations and follow-up visits. The cost may vary based on the complexity of the case, the materials used, and the expertise of the dental technician who makes the teeth. It's important to discuss the available options with us to find a solution that fits your budget and meets your needs.

The investment for a full jaw of implants with 12 teeth ranges between £12750 and £16700 for our top-tier option.

I drive nearly an hour in order to use this excellent dental practice. I am the most sensitive, low-pain-threshold, dentist-phobic person and in 10 + years (and I have regular visits, at least twice a year - have needed fillings, implants, porcelain tooth rebuild etc), I have never ever once felt any pain or had a negative experience. I have lived in the USA, Canada, South Africa and the UK and this is by far the very best dentist I have ever been to! Six stars!
